Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education
One of the changes in Basic Education Curriculum brought about by the new K-12 program is the introduction of Mother Tongue- Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) specifically in Kindergarten, Grades 1, 2 and 3 to support the goal of “ Every Child- A- Reader and A –Writer” by Grade 1.”

Difficulties Encountered in Adapting the MTB-MLE Curriculum
Section 4 of the Republic Act 10533 or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 states that the method of instruction and materials to use are in accordance with their mother tongue language.
Through the Department Order, Series of 2012, Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education went into effect.
Under this implementation, children in the primary education are affected. As a result, this can be considered as a serious matter because their education system today will affect their education in the future as well as their future itself.
This study aims to determine the difficulties encountered by the grade three students of Naga Central School II in adapting the curriculum of MTB-MLE.
